Miho Takagi won the silver medal in the women’s 500 meters in speed skating at the Beijing Winter Olympics on Sunday. This was the second medal for Takagi after her silver in the women’s 1,500 meters on Monday.
Takagi clocked 37.12 seconds at the National Speed Skating Oval in Beijing. Erin Jackson of the United States won gold with 37.04 seconds and Angelina Golikova of the Russian Olympic Committee secured the bronze medal with 37.21 seconds.
Arisa Go finished 15th and defending champion Nao Kodaira placed 17th.
