NAHA (Jiji Press) — Two Chinese coast guard ships intruded into Japanese territorial waters around the Senkaku Islands in Okinawa Prefecture on Saturday afternoon.
The two Haijing ships crossed into the waters around 3:50 p.m., according to the Japan Coast Guard’s 11th regional headquarters in Naha.
As the Haijing vessels tried to approach a Japanese fishing boat in the Japanese waters, a JCG patrol ship ordered the Chinese vessels to leave the area.
It was the 10th time this year for a Chinese government ship to enter Japanese waters around the Japanese-administered islands in the East China Sea.
