Japan, Polish defense heads share view on Ukraine

TOKYO (Jiji Press) — Japanese Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi and his Polish counterpart, Mariusz Blaszczak, on Monday shared the view that the heightened tensions in Ukraine are a global issue that cannot be ignored.
In a teleconference, Kishi briefed Blaszczak about how the Japanese government is trying to protect its nationals in Ukraine and sought cooperation from Poland, which borders Ukraine.
Before the session, the two ministers signed a memorandum of understanding on strengthening their nations’ defense cooperation and exchanges.
