71-Year-Old Arrested over Fatal Car Crash at Osaka Hospital

OSAKA — A 71-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday after he allegedly drove a car into a hospital in Osaka, fatally striking two women.
Ambulance workers found the women — one in her 70s and the other in her 80s — collapsed at the scene. The women were later confirmed dead.
An emergency call was made from Ikuno Aiwa Hospital in Ikuno Ward at around 2:50 p.m., reporting that women had been struck by a car that had smashed into its building.
The driver, who was arrested on the scene, admitted to police that he caused the accident and struck the women.
Police said that the victims were believed to be passersby.
