DOHA — Soccer fans from around the world pose for photos in front of a countdown clock located in central Doha, with one day remaining until the start of the FIFA soccer World Cup. On Saturday afternoon, the clock displayed the remaining time as “1 Day.” The opening game between Qatar and Ecuador was scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Sunday (1 a.m. Monday, JST).
