Two Chinese navy ships pass through Osumi Strait

Two Chinese navy survey vessels have sailed northeast through the Osumi Strait off the coast of Kagoshima Prefecture and into the Pacific Ocean, the Defense Ministry announced Thursday.
The ministry has also confirmed that a Chinese navy frigate sailed both north and south through the waters between Taiwan and Yonaguni Island, Okinawa Prefecture, between July 22 to July 27.
The Chinese ships did not enter Japanese territorial waters.
