5,000 colorful peonies decorate Japan pond, delight visitors

Peony flower “rafts” float in a pond in Peony Garden Tokyo in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, on Saturday. The about 5,000 primarily red and pink blooms were received from flower farmers, and have been delighting visitors.
The garden is open to the public on weekends until May 22. White and pink peonies are planned to be added to the rafts on May 14 and 15, and yellow ones on May 21 and 22.
