Sapporo police: Death of actress likely suicide

Actress Sayaka Kanda died as a result of injuries sustained after falling from the window of her room at a high-rise hotel in Chuo Ward, Sapporo, on Saturday, Hokkaido prefectural police announced following the release of an autopsy report.
The police suspect suicide.
Kanda, 35, was found unconscious at the hotel and was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
There were no concerns regarding safety failures at the hotel, according to police.
Kanda, the daughter of singer Seiko Matsuda and actor Masaki Kanda, was in Sapporo to perform the lead role in a musical.
