Japanese popular comedian Ryuhei Ueshima dies

Comedian Ryuhei Ueshima, of the popular comedy trio Dachou Club, has died in an apparent suicide. He was 61.
Ueshima’s family called an ambulance at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday and he was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Born in Hyogo Prefecture, Ueshima formed Dachou Club with Katsuhiro Higo and Jimon Terakado in the 1980s.
Known for physical comedy, Ueshima appeared regularly in variety shows such as “Shimura Ken no Baka Tono Sama” (Ken Shimura’s foolish warlord).
He also appeared in many dramas, including “Kaibutsu-kun” (The Monster Kid), which starred him as Wolfman.
