The launch of Japan’s H2A rocket was aborted Monday morning due to adverse weather conditions, according to the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency.
The H2A Launch Vehicle No. 47, carrying JAXA’s Smart Lander for Investigating Moon (SLIM) and the X-ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission (XRISM), was scheduled for launch at 9:26 a.m. from the Tanegashima Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture. However, the launch was canceled after strong winds were detected in the upper atmosphere.
A new launch schedule will be determined at a later date.
