Jordan Walker, Lars Nootbaar and Tyler O’Neill all homered for the Cardinals.
Bailey Falter entered the game in the third inning and allowed one run on one hit and a walk in 3 2/3 innings as the Pirates’s bulk reliever after opener Thomas Hatch allowed three runs on three hits in 2 1/3 innings.
