LOS ANGELES — Whether popular U.S. singer Taylor Swift can make it to the Super Bowl to watch her boyfriend play after finishing her show in Japan has been a hot topic in the United States, and the Japanese Embassy assured that she can in a statement.
“Despite the 12-hour flight and 17-hour time difference, the Embassy can confidently Speak Now to say that if she departs Tokyo in the evening after her concert, she should comfortably arrive in Las Vegas before the Super Bowl begins,” the Japanese Embassy in the United States posted on its official X account on Friday both in English and Spanish.
The pinnacle of American football’s premier NFL competition will be held in Las Vegas on Feb. 11 and the anticipation that Swift will be there to cheer on her boyfriend has been growing.
“Speak Now” is the title of Swift’s hit album, and the Embassy’s X post attracted a rare amount of attention compared to its usual posts about more formal matters such as introducing Japanese culture.
CNN reported that the diplomatic mission put out the statement “apparently to ease the concerns of fans fearing their idol could miss next week’s big game due to the tight timeframe.”
The Embassy’s post on Swift got more than 40,000 likes.
