Japan’s prime minister meets Ukrainian diva Tina Karol, promises continued support for her country

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida met with renowned Ukrainian singer Tina Karol at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tokyo on Monday.
During the meeting, Kishida pledged to continue supporting Ukraine in its ongoing conflict with Russia.
“I won’t allow forcible and unilateral changes to the status quo,” Kishida said. “I’d like to continue striving together with the Ukrainian people.”
Karol asked the prime minister for additional support, and said: “Music is a weapon and we’re fighting for world peace.”
After the meeting, Karol told reporters: “We’ll never surrender our territories to anyone. Japan underwent a phenomenal reconstruction and we’ll rebuild our country in a similar way.”
