Tokyo logs 79 new coronavirus cases

The Tokyo metropolitan government announced Saturday that 79 new novel coronavirus cases had been confirmed in the capital, up by 41 cases from the daily count for last Saturday. The number of new cases exceeded 60 for the fourth day in a row.
According to the metropolitan government, the seven-day moving average of new cases was 60.1, up 78.3% from 33.7 in the preceding period. One patient was seriously ill, unchanged from the previous day.
