Tourist bus overturns, leaving 1 dead, 3 seriously injured in Shizuoka Pref.

SHIZUOKA — A woman in her 70s died and three others were seriously injured when a tourist bus carrying 36 people overturned in Oyama, Shizuoka Prefecture, on Thursday, police said.

According to the Shizuoka prefectural police and other authorities, 34 passengers and two crew members were on board. The three seriously injured are all women in their 60s to 80s, and three other women suffered minor injuries.

The police said that the bus may have rode onto a slope beside the left shoulder of the road. The accident occurred on a road that leads to Mt. Fuji.
