The Tokyo metropolitan government announced Sunday that it had confirmed 4,711 new cases of infection with the novel coronavirus in the capital. This figure is 1,550 cases more than from the same day of the previous week. It was the second day in a row that the number of cases has exceeded that of a week ago.
