The Emperor underwent a prostate biopsy at a hospital in Tokyo on Sunday.
The Emperor, 62, had an MRI on Nov. 6 and was diagnosed with an enlarged prostate. However, there were said to be no findings of particular concern, and the biopsy was performed as a precaution.
The Emperor arrived at the hospital by car before 9 a.m. He opened a window and bowed to people along the road.
