The Emperor and Empress attended the Midori Prize awards ceremony to honor people and organizations who have made significant contributions to nature conservation, research on plants, and greening promotion campaigns.
The 16th annual ceremony was held Monday in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, hosted by the Cabinet Office.
Also in attendance were the leaders of the judicial, legislative and executive branches of the nation’s government, including Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and the heads of both Diet chambers.
