Kishida to visit 5 countries over Golden Week

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will visit Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Italy and the United Kingdom from Friday to May 6, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno said Thursday.
Kishida is expected to hold talks with the leader of each country, discussing such issues as the Russian invasion of Ukraine and China’s maritime expansion in the East and South China seas.
“Japan will work with these countries to strengthen cooperation to realize a free and open Indo-Pacific region,” Matsuno said.
