Defense Minister Gen Nakatani and U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth agreed on Sunday at their first in-person meeting to strengthen the Japan-U.S. alliance’s deterrence power and response capabilities by upgrading the headquarters of U.S. forces in Japan.
