Guestbook entries penned by various world leaders after visiting the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum during May’s Group of Seven summit will likely be put on display for the public from July.
The Hiroshima city government is considering exhibiting the entries at the International Conference Center Hiroshima located near the museum in Naka Ward.
Entries, handwritten by the Group of Seven leaders, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and others, contain messages of peace and the abolition of nuclear weapons.
U.S. President Joe Biden wrote, “Together — Let us continue to make progress toward the day when we can finally and forever rid the world of nuclear weapons.”
By making the messages public, the city hopes to increase the momentum for the abolition of nuclear weapons.
A round table used at the summit will also be on display.
