All Nippon Airways Co. began Thursday offering a discount on fares for flights between the airports of Haneda and Noto to support the recovery efforts in the areas struck by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
One-way fares between Haneda and Noto are offered at ¥10,000 to encourage secondary evacuation of disaster victims and the transfer of people to help support recovery efforts. The discount requires purchase at least one day in advance of the flight and the discounted fares will end on March 28.
ANA is the only airline that operates passenger flights to Noto airport in Wajima, Ishikawa Prefecture. It resumed operations on Jan. 27, but due to road conditions, regular flights have been canceled, although it continues to operate three round-trip temporary flights per week.
The Ishikawa prefectural government urges people to refrain from non-essential travel to the Noto region. ANA does not impose any restrictions on passengers but asked them to refrain from using the flights for leisure purposes.
