Weigh to go
10:09 JST, February 24, 2022
A lamb is weighed at Mother Farm in Futtsu, Chiba Prefecture, on Sunday, as its mother looks on. This year’s first lamb, a female, was born Feb. 9 at the farm, which raises about 500 sheep and lambs. The facility expects to have about 20 lambs by the end of March, following the birthing season. There are also twin lambs, rare for the Corriedale breed, at the farm’s lamb house, where visitors watched the pair snuggle against their mother. Visitors can watch lambs being weighed from 1 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays between Feb. 26 and March 21.
