Music Unit Complex Donates ¥1 Bil. to Ishikawa Pref.; Quake Relief Efforts for Children, Rebuilding Primary Industry

KANAZAWA — Complex, a music unit composed of guitarist Tomoyasu Hotei and singer Koji Kikkawa, donated about ¥1 billion to Ishikawa Prefecture, according to an announcement by the Ishikawa prefectural government on Wednesday.

The prefecture said the donation would be used for recovery efforts from the Jan. 1 Noto Peninsula Earthquake. The prefecture intends to create a relief fund with the donation for use in such purposes as rebuilding the primary industry in the prefecture and the establishment of facilities for local children.

According to the prefecture, the donation money from the rock stars includes profits from Complex’s Tokyo Dome concerts in May. By creating a fund, it will be possible to use the money for projects lasting longer than a single fiscal year. Complex has also made large donations to municipalities affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
