WAJIMA, Ishikawa — Koinobori carp streamers are fluttering in the wind above the Wajima Morning Market space in Wajima, Ishikawa Prefecture, which was extensively damaged by a large-scale fire caused by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake. Almost four months have passed since the earthquake, and a group of residents has taken the initiative to put up the decorations to encourage those affected by the disaster as they work towards reconstruction. In mid-April, they erected two poles, approximately 10 meters tall, and attached 10 colorful carp streamers.
