J-pop idol act Arashi announced it has donated ¥67.5 million to those affected by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
“We pray for the earliest possible restoration to normal life and peace of mind,” said the five Arashi members — Masaki Aiba, Jun Matsumoto, Kazunari Ninomiya, Satoshi Ohno and Sho Sakurai — on the group’s official social media accounts.
According to their record company, the members donated the profits and their fee from an event they held on New Year’s Eve.
As of Tuesday, about ¥1.31 billion of public donations has been sent to Ishikawa Prefecture through the Japanese Red Cross Society and other organizations, the Ishikawa prefectural government said.
