Electronic money and points to be used at venues for the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo will respectively be called Myaku-pe and Myaku-po, the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition announced Monday.
The e-money and e-point services for the Expo will begin in May next year. The services were named after the Expo’s official mascot, Myaku-myaku.
In general, all payments inside Expo venues will be cashless, according to an association policy. Besides Expo venues, it will be possible to use Myaku-pe e-money at outside stores that allow contactless payment by credit card.
The services will be available via a smartphone app called Expo 2025 Digital Wallet.
