Yamanote Line Services Suspended in Tokyo for 2 Hours on Wednesday Morning

Services on the JR Yamanote and Keihin-Tohoku lines were suspended for nearly two hours early Wednesday morning due to a signal problem.

According to East Japan Railway Co. (JR East), a signal became stuck on red at around 4:40 a.m. Wednesday between Hamamatsucho and Shimbashi stations on the inner loop of the Yamanote Line.

All train operations on the Yamanote Line and on part of the Keihin-Tohoku Line were suspended until around 6:35 a.m. for inspections, affecting a total of about 18,000 passengers.
