1st case of monkeypox infection confirmed in Japan

The nation’s first case of monkeypox infection has been confirmed, government sources said on Monday.
It has not been disclosed where the infection was detected.
Earlier on Monday, the government held a meeting to discuss countermeasures against monkeypox and decided to create a system for treating patients.
The World Health Organization has recently declared the ongoing monkeypox outbreak a Public Health Emergency.
