Workers are busy assembling ballot boxes at a paper plant in Nagaoka, Niigata Prefecture, as part of preparations ahead of the House of Councilors election slated for July 10. The boxes are foldable and assembled by attaching metal handles to the blue and charcoal gray paper-based containers before being shipped to municipalities nationwide. The plant also received orders for green and light blue boxes from locations where other balloting is taking place the same day.
