333 carp streamers fly from 333-meter-tall Tokyo Tower
A total of 333 koinobori carp streamers hang from the 333-meter-tall Tokyo Tower in Minato Ward, Tokyo, on Sunday, ahead of Children’s Day on May 5. Koinobori are disappearing from Tokyo, where apartment blocks have become more common than detached houses. The Tokyo Tower streamers first appeared in 2009 and have become a popular annual event at this capital landmark. They can be viewed this year through Sunday, May 8.
