The Tokyo metropolitan government building in Shinjuku Ward is lit up in blue and yellow, the colors of the Ukrainian flag, on Monday night in a show of Tokyo’s solidarity with the country bravely trying to repel an invasion by neighbor Russia. The building will be illuminated from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. everyday through March 6. Tokyo Gov. Yuriko Koike condemned the Russian invasion, calling it “nothing less than a challenge to international society and democracy.”
