Lush fields of silver grass can be seen at Sengokuhara Highland in Hakone, Kanagawa Prefecture. The grasses on Mount Daigatake turn gold in the autumn sun, indicating the passing of the season. “I refrained from going out during the state of emergency, so it’s very soothing to be able to go outside and look at the beautiful scenery,” a man from Katsushika Ward, Tokyo, said. Silver grass has reached its peak a little earlier compared to an average year, according to the Hakone tourist information center.
