‘Rising threats: Challenges facing Japan’ to be 2022 Yomiuri International Forum theme
16:50 JST, January 26, 2022
The Yomiuri International Economic Society (YIES) and The Yomiuri Shimbun have chosen “Rising threats: Challenges facing Japan” as the theme for the 2022 Yomiuri International Forum, which is jointly organized by the two entities.
As the international order is being shaken by conflicts between major powers, the need to prepare for crises has become an urgent issue surrounding Japan as well. Amid global challenges such as the novel coronavirus pandemic and climate change, there are also concerns about a prolonged economic slump. The Yomiuri International Forum will explore the way forward for Japan and the world in a series of symposiums with experts beginning this spring.
