10:22 JST, January 2, 2024
ANA was to operate additional extra flights on Tuesday between Tokyo’s Haneda Airport and Komatsu Airport in Ishikawa Prefecture, as a series of powerful earthquakes have been hitting the prefecture since Monday.
According to the company’s website, the flights were to depart for Haneda Airport at 9:05 a.m. and the other was to fly from Komatsu Airport at 11:10 a.m.
Ishikawa Prefecture was hit hard by a powerful earthquake on Monday afternoon, which registered the maximum level of 7 on the Japanese seismic intensity scale in the Noto Peninsula in the prefecture.
All flight services at Noto airport, which is located on the peninsula, will be canceled on Tuesday, as it is difficult to determine how much damage its runway and terminal building have sustained.
