Anglers on boats do some early morning fishing for rainbow trout at Sugenuma, a scenic lake in Gunma Prefecture, as the fishing season opened Saturday. At Sugenuma, situated at 1,730 meters above sea level, the remaining snow has melted by late May, and the trees along the lakeshore boast fresh foliage, mirrored by the deep-green surface of the lake.
