A man on Sunday puts back in place a tombstone at a cemetery in Tome, Miyagi Prefecture, after it was displaced by a powerful earthquake on March 16. The weekend fell during an equinoctial week, when people in Japan traditionally remember the deceased. In Tome and other areas hit by the latest quake, people offered prayers amid the toppled grave-markers. This latest earthquake measured upper 6 on the Japanese seismic intensity scale of 0-7.
