Colorful Japanese umbrellas are illuminated at the Miraizu city community exchange center in Mima, Tokushima Prefecture. An event featuring the lit-up Mima wagasa, traditional Japanese umbrellas, is running at the center until Feb. 20. The Mima area once had a thriving umbrella-making industry, with over 200 local stores in the mid 1950s. However, this number has gradually decreased, and a local collective has been trying to revive the tradition since 2011. The event runs until 9:00 p.m.
