Tokyo logs 37,767 new cases

Tokyo logged 37,767 new cases of novel coronavirus infection on Friday, up by 953 from the same day the previous week.
Niigata Prefecture confirmed 3,704 new cases. This is a new record high, surpassing the 3,235 cases logged on July 28.
