Tokyo to log more than 40,000 COVID-19 cases for the 1st time

Tokyo logged 40,406 new novel coronavirus infection cases Thursday, the Tokyo metropolitan government said.
The daily tally surpassed 40,000 for the first time and 30% higher than the same day previous week.
