Tokyo logs 16,662 COVID-19 cases

Tokyo logged 16,662 new cases of novel coronavirus infection on Thursday, almost double the figure from the same day last week, the Tokyo metropolitan government said.
It marked the 27th consecutive day of week-on-week increases.
