Tokyo logs 17,433 virus cases

Tokyo confirmed 17,433 new cases of the novel coronavirus Saturday, up 6,206 from a week earlier, and surpassing 10,000 for the fifth consecutive day.
Osaka Prefecture logged 10,383 new cases, rewriting its daily record for the second consecutive day. It also confirmed six deaths linked to COVID-19.
Meanwhile, Hokkaido confirmed 3,002 new cases, topping 3,000 for the first time.
