Tokyo logs 641 virus cases

Tokyo confirmed 641 new coronavirus cases Thursday, up 577 from a week earlier and exceeding 600 for the first time since Sept. 18, when the capital logged 865 cases.
According to the Tokyo metropolitan government, three patients were seriously ill, unchanged from Wednesday.
In Osaka Prefecture, there were 505 new cases on Thursday. The daily count topped 500 for the first time since Sept. 23.
