Kyoto woman’s omicron infection possibly community-acquired

A woman in her 20s in Kyoto Prefecture with no history of recent overseas travel has been confirmed to be infected with the omicron variant of the novel coronavirus, the Kyoto prefectural government announced Thursday. With the infection route unknown, it is thought to be a case of community-acquired infection. It is also the first time for an omicron variant infection to be confirmed in the prefecture.
