Suzuki unveils Moped with Pedals; Vehicle Combines Features of Electric Assisted Bicycle, Motorcycle

Suzuki Motor Corp.’s “e-PO” in Tokyo on Thursday

Suzuki Motor Corp. unveiled a vehicle that has the features of both a bicycle and motorcycle to the press on Thursday. The vehicle is still under development.

Named “e-PO,” the vehicle runs on a motor and can be used as an electrical assisted bicycle. With its dual features it is expected to be in demand as an easy means of transportation.

When running on the motor alone, the e-PO can drive for approximately 20 kilometers. It is intended for short distance commuting to work or school, and its folding design makes it easy to carry.

The release date and price have yet to be determined.

The vehicle is categorized as a class 1 motorcycle and will require a license plate and helmet to ride on public roads.
