Three animated films based on the works of manga artist Go Nagai, a native of Wajima, Ishikawa Prefecture, will be made free for streaming on YouTube. The first will be available from 9 p.m. on Thursday.
Part of the ad revenue from the streaming will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society to support reconstruction in areas affected by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
The three films will be viewable on Toei’s official YouTube channel, Toei Theater Online. “Mazinger Z vs General Dark” will available for two weeks starting on Thursday, followed by “Great Mazinger vs Getta Robot” from Feb. 29 and “UFO Robot Grendizer vs Great Mazinger” from March 7.
The Go Nagai Wonderland Museum, which was on the Wajima Morning Market Street, was destroyed in a massive fire triggered by the earthquake. On Jan. 24, Nagai told reporters in Tokyo that he, along with his company, plans to donate ¥20 million to the Ishikawa prefectural and Wajima city governments.
