Noto Peninsula Earthquake to Be Designated as Severe Disaster

Noto Peninsula Earthquake will be designated as a disaster of extreme severity, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said Monday.
At the government’s meeting on Monday, Kishida instructed the relevant ministries and agencies to move forward with procedures toward a Cabinet decision.
Once designated, the central government’s subsidy rate for restoration projects conducted by local governments will be raised.
