Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi: “130 Rescue Requests Received”

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi said at a press conference on Wednesday afternoon that “we have received reports of about 130 rescue requests as of 8:00 a.m. Wednesday,” referring to an increase in the number of rescue requests due to improved communication environment. According to Hayashi, 80 people were rescued by the Self-Defense Forces, police, and firefighters on Tuesday.
Hayashi also said that the number of evacuated people was 32,608 in a total of 484 locations including Ishikawa and Niigata prefectures as of 6:00 a.m. Wednesday.
