Tokaido Shinkansen Train Service Resumes After Suspension Due to Heavy Rain (Update 1)

Tokaido Shinkansen train service has resumed after being suspended between Toyohashi and Mikawa-Anjo stations on Friday morning as rainfall exceeded the standard limit, according to Central Japan Railway Co. (JR Tokai).

The company confirmed that the amount of rainfall had fallen to below the limit and gradually resumed operations at 11:30 a.m.

Typhoon Peipah, or No. 15, has caused an increased amount of rain in the Tokai region.
