Japan April jobless rate falls to 2.5%

TOKYO (Jiji Press) — Japan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 2.5 % in April,
down 0.1 percentage point from the previous month, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said Tuesday.
The number of jobless people decreased by 30,000 from the previous month to 1.76 million after seasonal adjustment, the ministry also said.
Separately, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare said the ratio of job openings to job seekers in April stood at 1.23, up 0.01 point from the previous month.
